What is Manual Therapy?
The simple definition of manual therapy is a therapeutic effect or benefit which is done at the hands of a skilled practitioner. Manual is defined as relating to or done with the hands. Traditional manual therapy is done by a skilled provider such as a physical therapist, osteopathic physician, massage therapist, or chiropractor. The target tissue of manual therapy is generally soft tissue structures including muscle, connective tissue, tendon or joint. Manual therapy directed at the joint can be sub categorized as low velocity low amplitude joint mobilization for high velocity low amplitude joint manipulation.

Dr. Brian Healy is a dual licensed chiropractor and physical therapist. He graduated the University of Scranton with a Masters in Physical Therapy and began his career in New York in orthopedic and sports physical therapy with passion for skilled manual therapy. Read more >>
